This is more than another electrical PM position. About the Role
The Opportunity: We are seeking a Project Manager who understands electrical construction from both perspectives — hands-on field experience and professional-level project leadership. Ideally, this individual began their career in the electrical field as an electrician, apprentice, foreman, or through formal electrical training and later progressed into project management. That field knowledge matters. We are also seeking a Project Manager who can sit down with executives and clients, manage budgets and schedules, and then walk onto a jobsite and immediately understand what electricians and field leadership are dealing with.
Responsibilities
- Sit down with executives and clients to discuss project requirements and progress.
- Manage project budgets and schedules.
- Walk onto job sites and immediately understand what electricians and field leadership are dealing with.
- Lead and oversee large-scale commercial and industrial electrical projects.
- Provide professional-level project leadership while leveraging hands-on field experience.
Large projects include:
- Distribution and fulfillment facilities
- Major warehouse projects
- Industrial facilities
- Cold-storage facilities
- Data centers
- Other large-scale commercial electrical projects
Qualifications
- Ideally, began a career in the electrical field as an electrician, apprentice, foreman, or through formal electrical training and later progressed into project management.
- Approximately 1–2+ years of direct electrical field experience.
Required Skills
Who We Are Seeking: We are particularly interested in candidates who have come up through the electrical trades and transitioned into a Project Manager role.
Ideal experience includes:
- Hands-on electrical field experience or formal electrician training
- Approximately 1–2+ years working directly in the electrical field
- Progression into an Assistant Project Manager or Project Manager position
- Experience managing significant commercial or industrial electrical projects
- Strong understanding of electrical systems and field operations
- Experience with large distribution, warehouse, industrial, cold-storage, data-center, or similar projects
- Strong project financial and organizational skills
- Excellent communication skills with both field personnel and clients
- A proactive, accountable approach to project leadership
- The ability to understand the electrical work itself is an important part of this position.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with large distribution, warehouse, industrial, cold-storage, data-centre, or similar projects (if not already possessed at a significant level).
- Background that includes both hands-on field work and progressive project management responsibility.
